There will be 3 amazing art classes for kids and adults in the library.

Each class is $15. Maximum 30 people. Sign up early when you get to the Art Fair at 10, space is limited!

Glass charm pendants 10:30 – 11:30 am
Materials and step-by-step process provided to guide you to make a customized necklace of your own. Necklace charms are a one-inch square. Personalize your charm by bringing a photo, drawing a picture, or choosing from a variety of art deco paper. By the end of class you'll have a customized charm necklace for yourself, or as a gift for someone special!

Wire Art Class : Visions of Spring. 11:30 – 12:30pm

Join us as we bend and twist copper wire into beautiful "springy" shapes. We will be creating all kinds of flora like leaves, flowers, and trees. We will then attach them onto a wooden background, which the student will paint to enhance the beauty of their sweet creations. Perfect for a mother's day gift or just a fabulous reminder of how creative and inspired your child is.

Georgia O’Keefe Stitchery Art project 1:30 – 2:30 pm

Students will choose from several prints of flower paintings by Georgia O'Keefe, then draw big flowers in magic marker on burlap. Then, learn how to do a running stitch, backstitch and satin stitch (depending on age of participants) and stitch over the marker drawing with colorful yarn. Then these masterpieces could be hung or stitched to a pillow to treasure.

Art Fair Classes at the Rieke Art Fair
Sunday, May 3rd

Art classes will be offered in the library during the Rieke Art Fair. The cost of each class is $10.00 and pre-registration is preferred. 100% of the class fee will directly benefit Rieke Elementary! Students first grade or younger must be accompanied by an adult during the class.

Tooled Aluminum Bug 10:00 – 11:00
Learn to use the metal sculpting technique of repouse to make an insect in relief. Add beads and wire to transform your sculpture into a decorative garden stake or mystical magic wand.

Pose able Action Figures 11:15 - 12:15
Use Model Magic and traditional doll-making techniques to create an amazing character. Let your imagination run wild. Will you make a ballerina or a bullfighter? A robot or a rhinoceros man? A fairie or a firefighter? You decide!

Black Pen and Watercolor 12:30 – 1:30
Draw a whimsical cityscape in black ink, focusing on detail and design. Then paint in the world of color filling in the sky and the surrounding buildings.

Oil Pastel Flowers 2:00 – 3:00
Study artist Georgia O’Keefe and learn how she saw the floral world around her. Draw a flower of your own design on a cloth canvas using oil pastels. A great mother’s day gift for a Mother or Grandmother!
